Lorraine Nadel, as the senior member of Nadel & Ciarlo, is a skilled and accomplished litigator in the areas of real estate, co-op and condo law, landlord-tenant law, and business and commercial law. She is known for her ability to help clients effectively solve problems by providing concrete solutions to complex matters. Having been an accountant with a top accounting firm prior to obtaining her law degree, her combined legal and accounting background provide a distinct advantage to her clientele, namely small and large businesses, co-ops and condos, property owners, brokers, management companies, boards, landlords and tenants. Her practice encompasses a diverse range of dispute and litigation-oriented matters.
Ms. Nadel graduated from Boston University with honors with a dual major in Accounting and Finance. She obtained her law degree from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law and was admitted to the New York and New Jersey State Bar in 1989. She is admitted to practice in the civil, state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, including the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations, the New York County Lawyers’ Association, New York City and the Brooklyn Bar Associations. Ms. Nadel is often quoted by The New York Times and other publications for her real estate knowledge, and is frequently called upon to handle complex real estate, business, commercial and rent regulation issues. She was included in New York’s Super Lawyers list for real estate attorneys in 2014 and 2015.
Partner Michael Ciarlo has been with our firm since 1999, successfully advocating for our clients through his extensive knowledge of commercial, business and real estate litigation. He has a wide range of experience negotiating, analyzing, resolving and litigating all aspects of real estate, business, co-op, condo and landlord-tenant matters. Mr. Ciarlo brings a significant depth of understanding to his role in advising large and small businesses, co-ops, condominiums, landlords, tenants and individuals in their disputes and litigation.
Mr. Ciarlo graduated from New York University with honors in 1995 and obtained his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1998. He was admitted to both the New York and New Jersey bar in 1999. Mr. Ciarlo regularly appears in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Civil Court of the City of New York, and the United States Federal District Court on all types of commercial and real estate litigation. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
